So after a week I found the Diesel Cruze CD Sportwagon to be not a bad car at all the ride is reasonable the diesel engine offers a good amount of power and excellent economy, there is a good amount of space and room.
While it won’t set the world on fire with its speed and agility it does make up for it with the practicality and added load carrying capability the sportwagon offers over its sedan and hatch brothers and sisters.
The only problem I see with the Cruze Sportwagon is that it could be a victim of its own circumstance. Being the only Cruze not locally built it is on a different build cycle to the Australian made Cruzes so the Sportswagon’s have not benefited from the latest update the local.
This car would be perfectly suited for a small business or sales rep that needs a car with decent load carrying ability and fuel economy but doesn’t need a bigger car....

Ok so now I’ve spent a week in the SRi-V Cruze what do I think?, well it’s damn fine little car, superb handling, Agile responsive a generous amount of tech, great fuel economy, plenty of space on the inside and comfortable seats.
What more could you ask for well the only thing I really wanted more of apart from another week behind the wheel is more power I think more power would change this car from a decent car to exceptional....

The Holden Cruze is now ‘Australia’s small car’ with a big asterisk next to that statement. The addition of a wagon variant – naturally dubbed Sportwagon to complement Commodore – leaves only its sibling hatchback and sedan variants built locally, as the big-booted Cruze hails from South Korea....

A nice surprise. The 1.4 turbo should be the only petrol engine choice. The SRi as it stands is a very competent package and the price makes it extremely competitive....

Drivers will be surprised by the Cruze's nippiness around town despite its small engine. However, it has light and vague steering and the six-speed auto can be a little rough and unpredictable at times....

The Cruze CD 1.4 iTi Hatchback has a lot going for it, not least its sticker price and zesty free-spinning turbo engine. That 1.4 litre turbo engine, however, is brilliant. It’s fun to drive, reasonably fuel-efficient and well worth the extra outlay. If we were buying a Cruze, it’s definitely the powertrain we’d opt for....

The Cruze SRi-V hatch is not especially dynamic, nor is it “a revelation”. But it is good buying value. It’s very well-featured, robustly built, has a suspension tune well-matched to Australian roads, and is very fuel efficient. Also a plus is the generous interior head and legroom, with the convenience of a hatch. In a tight field, we’d recommend a look at Holden’s Cruze SRi-V hatch if shopping for a quality small car....

For us the main attraction is the diesel engine together with an auto. It's basically $4000 for the engine and another $2000 for the auto but it will pay dividends in the long run especially if you plan to keep the car for a few years. If money was tight and we were trying to transport a family it represents excellent value for money. Misses out on Bluetooth which is a big minus in our eyes ($500 option)....
