really did enjoy my week with the 308 Allure Diesel and over all I found the Peugeot 308 not a bad car at all it has plenty of comfort and has a decent amount of features. Everytime I got in it I felt at home, it was damn easy to wheel around a car park, it handled the work and school runs with ease it didn't have an issue with it at all.
I found the handling alright up to about 7/10’s it only when you try to take it above that then it stumbles slightly but I don’t think the 308 was meant to be an all out performance hatch either.
It’s impressive fuel economy and ride on the highway would make this car an excellent long distance cruiser, as well as a nice car for around the city for somebody wanting a little bit of luxury.
If you are after a fairly well equip hatch at the premium end of the scale then you should at the very least give the Peugeot 308 a look it might surprise you....

The Peugeot 207CC isn’t designed to be a genuine sports car, but an enjoyable fashionable convertible that’s at home in Bondi or St Kilda.
It offers a comfortable ride but manages bumps well, with little crash-through, but is still firm enough for good body control and handling. It’s not as good to drive as the two-seat rear-wheel drive Mazda MX-5 and VW Golf cabriolet for handling, but it’s a more luxurious affair than either....

Boasting a raft of cutting-edge technologies and a proprietary diesel-electric drive, Peugeot is not only keen to position its new 508 RXH as their top-of-the-line prestige model, but also a rolling showcase of the brand’s green innovation....

Peugeot has once again called on Japanese car maker Mitsubishi (as it did in 2007 with the Outlander-based Peugeot 4008) for its expertise in four-wheel-drives, creating a premium SUV package around the ASX platform. While there’s plenty of Peugeot DNA in the front end styling of the 4008, shared panels with the ASX include the roof, front and rear doors, the windscreen and A-Pillar....

While it’s still avant-garde, the latest 308 is far more appealing than the previous model on the styling front alone. Add to that exceptional ride and handling, plenty of practicality and strong performance from its gutsy little turbocharged four, and you’ve got the perfect excuse for a French daily driver....

The Peugeot 508 e-HDi is a nice car that’s let down by the inadequacies of its quirky transmission and snoozy start-stop system. It’s certainly fuel efficient - and that’s its primary objective - and we’d have more praise for the e-HDi were it not for the jerky gear changes and slow-reacting stop-start. As it stands though, it’s difficult to recommend the e-HDi when the rest of the 508 range is so much better - if a little more expensive....

Would we buy one? Ummm. Possibly, but I'd be checking out what the opposition has to offer first. The roof and heads up are big drawcards. Then again Im a big fan of the 308 hatch with a diesel engine - one of the best things that Peugeot produces....

The 508 is good but not great, effective but not memorable. It's a car that has been driven by a new approach at Peugeot to a new group of customers, and it will definitely give them something to consider. The price line is very appealing and the 508 makes a strong case against rivals such as the Camry, but is less convincing when it's lined up against a Skoda Superb or a Volkswagen Passat. It should definitely make big gains for Peugeot in Australia, but it's not the landmark car the brand needs. Perhaps that's the baby 208 that's coming next year . . ....

The real plus in this stylish wagon is to enjoy the comfort, the fair value and space plus the prestige of a Euro car badge. Don't expect it to be a German-like sportster wagon in nimble handing and steering. But do cash in on the diesel engine's frugality and range. This Touring is a good tourer....

Some will love the looks, others will just be pleased to have an alternative to the Germans who dominate the compact prestige market, but the Gallic lion finally has something to roar about again. Well-equipped but not as engaging as perhaps it could have been, it's a welcome and positive step back into the market for Peugeot - with a model that is worthy of genuine consideration....
